The national airline "Uzbekistan Airways" will create its own low-cost airline, Umid Khusanov, first deputy chairman of the national air carrier Uzbekistan Airways, said at the meeting of the International Press Club on Wednesday.
The budget airline will be established as a subsidiary of the national airline Uzbekistan Airways.
Now the national air carrier is studying the world experience, including the experience of the Russian Aeroflot and its low-cost airline Pobeda.
Ticket prices will depend on many factors, including airport dislocation, a set of services on board and others. It is assumed that the price of a ticket for a flight from Tashkent to Moscow can be about $ 100.
Low-cost airline will be aimed at the tourist flow. Its main directions will be Russia, Turkey and Egypt.
In early February, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree "On measures to develop inbound tourism", which provides for the withdrawal of the airport "Karshi" from the national airline "Uzbekistan Airways" and the introduction of "open sky" in its territory, including the use of low cost airline.
Later, it was decided to introduce the "open sky" regime in three more international airports in Uzbekistan - in Andijan, Nukus and Navoi.
