A significant number of innovations are introduced in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement.

On April 9, 2018, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law "On Public Procurement".

This Law is designed to ensure the openness and transparency of public procurement, competitive struggle of entrepreneurs in this area and will make it possible to effectively use the state budget funds, centralized sources and enterprises with a share of the state.

For the first time, taking into account international standards, this type of procurement procedure is introduced, such as purchasing from a single supplier.

The law takes into account the experience in the implementation of public procurement, as well as international practice, including the main provisions of the model legislation of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the laws of the European Union, the United States, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries. During the development of the law, discussions were held with international organizations, including the World Bank, the expert and business community, representatives of ministries and departments.
